World Education Congress 2010, Closing Reception

Awards: 2010 BC Event Award for “Most Outstanding Event $100,000 to $300,000″ was awarded to MVKA for the production of the MPI WEC 2010 Closing Reception. The BC Event Awards is a regional awards program recognizing outstanding achievements in special events, meeting management, conference planning and exhibition management.
On July 27th the 900 block Granville Street was transformed into a vibrant street party. The Closing Reception showed local and international meeting professionals that Vancouver knows how to throw a world- class party. Guests were treated to a wildly divergent array of cuisine and cocktails, while being entertained by Vancouver’s own electrifying professional talent including performances by fire dancers, salsa, hip hop, urban and break dancers, dueling DJs’s, tap shows and live dynamic painting performances. The experience was high energy and an excellent showcase of Vancouver’s vibrant, urban, and exciting nightlife. The block party was hosted by MPI, Tourism Vancouver, Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver Hotel Destination Association and Canadian Tourism Commission, and included the participation of the 900 block Granville Street vendors and merchants.
